Car Insurance- increase your deductible and/or just get the basics such as uninsured motorist. Collision and comprehensive depends on how old your car and if the costs for them are worth it to you.

Ask your agent on other ways to save money.

    Food – eat in
Cable/Internet – Drop cable (but get a digital to analog converter). For internet, go wireless and "borrow" a neighbors unprotected connection
Electricity – Hmmm…just set your A/C at a higher temp
    Cell phones – ???
Car payment – in general buy a car that’s about 2 years old instead of a new car (since they depreciate so much in price during the 1st 2 years)
    Car Insurance – ???

Doing this worked with my satellite company 2 months back. Get online to a competitiors website, I have Dish (so I got on Directv’s) and call your current provider and tell them you want to cancel your service because you found a better deal for a lower price on the competitors website.

To keep me from cancelling they gave me a package with double the channels I had, for less than I was paying before, and they gave me premium channels free for 3 months.

Read this article for saving money on food http://www.ehow.com/how_226117.....-bill.html , and this article for gas http://www.ehow.com/how_228945.....y-gas.html. I took my cable down to the minimum and I am getting close to shuting it off because 99% of everything I watch is now available to watch online for free. For electricity I am unplugging everything not in use or when I am done using it because it uses electricity if it is just plugged in whether or not it is being used. I am also washing clothes and dishes at off peak hours and not using the air conditoner anymore. For car insurance I submitted paperwork to my insurance company showing I am driving less miles and called them to make sure I was getting all the discounts I was eligible to like car alarm, good driver, etc. The crime rate in my area also went down so I was eligible for a discount for that. For cell phone a shopped around and found that Verizon was cheaper than the provider I had so I changed and got less minutes and have banned the kids from texting (you can demand that the service provider put a password on the texting for the kids phone so they can’t send or receive texts without a password from you). My car company allowed to miss 3 payments without it affecting our credit. I just called them and explained our situation. They would rather help you thru a bad situation than repo your car.
