I have an assignment about finding the cheapest computer which will run Microsoft Office 2003.
So what I need is
Pentium 4 with a processing speed of 400 MHz
256 MB of RAM
880 MB of hard disk
BUT when I search for computers with these components everything is listed different.. So if anyone could please help me that would be greatttttt!!!

1G = 1000M
Although I think in computers it is actually 1024M = 1G
Basicly the cheapest new PC you can find would easily run Office 2003. For example Dell’s cheapest desktop at $349 has 4 times more memory, easily 6 times the processor, and 280 times the required hard drive space.
The system requirements required to run it are middle of the road 1998 system specs.
Honestly you should be able to get that PC used for free from just about any computer repair shop.
You CANNOT buy a brand new computer with such a low configuration. But Old Computer salers will be eager to sell you one. I my self have an old PC with 32 MB RAM, 1.5 GB hard disk, P1 processor, which no old computer saler is willing to buy.
That kind of a system goes beyond obsolete. You could probably buy the parts for $20.
They mean the minimum processing speed of a Pentium 4 processor is 400MHz, which is the minimum Microsoft Office will run on. 256MB of RAM is the same. What you’re looking for is a PC with a Pentium 4 processor, 256MB RAM and the hard drive space doesn’t matter.
I found one, IBM Netvista. Check it:

You need to find the cheapest computer you can find anywhere that has a pentium 4. then look at the specs to see if it has at least 256mb of ram. You probably won’ find a new one that has less then the the 400 mhz. 1.2 mhz would be 1,200. and won’t find a computer that has less than a 880 mb hard drive.
What he gave you where the minimum requirements so any that meet the minimum that he gave you or exceeds the minimum is what you need
So look for the cheapest computer that has a P4 with 256 mb of ram and the other specs will probably be exceeded.
I would say go to pricewatch.com and I think you would find it but it wouldn’t come with an Operating System, LOL but it would be capable of running Office 2K3.
