Anyone had experience buying a new car on Ebay Motors? I’ve read Yahoo! Answers and articles on buying a used car on Ebay Motors. However, I haven’t found any experiences on anyone buying a new car. From the auctions that transpire, it appears that you can get a new car for cheaper than you can if you walked in to a dealership and tried to haggle with them. Add a benefit of a lot less stress, a reputable auto dealer with tons of positive feedback and an actual storefront someplace, it looks like it might be a good way to go. Has anybody had any experience buying new from Ebay Motors?

I have never bought a new car on ebay but have bought a few used cars on ebay and have been very pleased with the results. I think that the private sellers are more honest about what any issues may be than a dealer.
I wouldn’t buy a new car from eBay motors, as a matter of fact I won’t buy a car sight unseen without having it checked out first, but that’s just me, I think I can make as good a deal with a dealership than I can with a seller on eBay
here is the real issue. They all buy their cars from the same place. They all pay about the same for them with in a few hundred dollars. How would you pick it up?? If you buying out of state many lemon laws only cover in state residents. If you expect to get it serviced under warranty who will you take it to? The new car dealers have to service it but there is nothing in their franchise agreement as to when. They are all allowed to take care of their customers first then "visiting" customers as they are called. many dealers can’t handle their own customers in a timly fashion much less "visiting" customers. You might save a few hundred dollars buy getting it on ebay but in the long run I don’t think it will pay. If its a rare or hard to come by car thats another story but the average car buy near your home or office.
Often times the cars on ebay have flaws and they can pass them off quicker online without doing the repairs. If you do this try to find somewhat local and meet the seller face to face.
