I am planning to purchase computer components in USA to take to my home country (India). I want this desktop for my home.

I wanted to know if there would be any problem because of the different voltage ratings (110 V, 60Hz in US and 220V, 50Hz in India). If at all, there would be any problem, which specific parts hould I buy in India, rather than in USA.

I am buying parts in US and assembling the desktop in India bcoz I get them at cheaper price and of better config.

(I am planning to buy the power supplu unit in India itself, bcoz I know that it will be using 220 V. I’m not sure about other parts)

I’m trying to find the best gaming pc for around ,000. I’m going to give you 3 links for an alienware pc, xps pc, and a custom built pc from magic micro thats on ebay. I’m not sure about the quality of magic micro because the reviews are mixed. They are so much cheaper as you can tell from the links I’m about to add. I know a good bit about computer components so I don’t think I’ll get burned with cheaper parts from micro. If anyone has personal experience with magic-micro please share. Anyway I’d just like to hear what you all would get if had to chose between these three. Thanks

4) Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R Desktop Board (Motherboard)

5) Seagate 7200RPM 320GB Internal Hard Drive

I feel these are general low-end components and shouldn’t be a cause for problem. What’s your take on it?

I’m planning to put them in the check-in baggage. Will it be Illegal to take them out of US? Will the security company get freaked-out on seeing this in the carry-on baggage?

(I don’t want to risk being jailed for no reason).

I am an enthusiast PC gamer that builds my own gaming rig. In 3 months time i will be moving to Honolulu. Comp USA is now closed so there is no more left for me to buy cheap individual computer components.
1. I prefer to buy in a cheap computer store in honolulu, i will be glad if you can tell me, but what I prefer is the kind that i can buy cheap individual components. Do they have a website?
2. If I have to buy online, what site would you recommend? I like Newegg.com but there is a shipping charge when they deliver to Hawaii, is there a site that have free delivery in hawaii?

I want to buy computer components with US Dollars and I want it shipped to Sweden. I’ve looked at Tigerdirect but obviously they’ve got a sister company that sells the same pieces but here in sweden for swedish kronors, which makes it alot more expensive.

I’ve looked at Newegg and a few other sites. (The reason I want to buy with US Dollars is because it gets ALOT cheaper than buying with Swedish Kronors.)
I’ve also looked at Directron, they’re rather cheap and I’d love to buy from’em (Got all 5 pieces I need) but I can’t find if they ship to Sweden or not.

I am going to take some desktop computer components from US on an International flight.

I was confused as to whether I should carry them in my ‘Check-in’ baggage or as ‘Carry-on’ baggage.

I’m taking with me these components: RAM, Motherboard, Intel CPU, Video Card, Wireless Mouse, Hard Disk.

If any of you guyz have travelled before with such stuff, plz advice me as to whether is it safe to put these parts in ‘check-in’ baggage? Do any of these break or get damaged if you carry them in ‘Check-in’ baggage?

Also, if I carry these individual parts (not assembled) as Carry-on luggage, will I have some problem with the airport security people? (F.Y.I. these are generally available, cheap to average cost components.) Are these allowed to be taken as carry-on luggage? If not, then which of these is not allowed?
