I have credit cards which say they cover me for rental car insurance when I use the card to make the full payment for the rental. How does that work? Are there any catches? Does it make sense for me to get the additional insurance from the rental agency (like Avis)? If I am in an accident, will the Credit Card insurance cover everything or will it also be charged to my regular car insurance company?

Cash? Credit Cards? Other Loan? Sell crack or what?

My parents never had credit cards and always paid cash. I unfortunately followed their example and pay cash for everything from christmas presents to my house. I have no record of paying off loans on time, so bad credit. Do I need to rent a dump somewhere in the slums, go to college for the card offers or what?

Lee’s Summit Mitsubishi in the Kansas City Metro area is offering up to 00 cash back to do Christmas shopping, Pay of Credit cards or use as down payment. Has anyone had any dealings with this dealership? I’m in need of a car but I don’t want to get taken. I can use the cash to pay about 90% of my debt. I’m assuming the 00 is part of loan. Can anyone help me?

Will it be an all cash Christmas? Loan? Credit Cards?

It’s kind of a stupid question but I heard it doesn’t affect everyone. I’m 20. I go to college part time (I took this term off) I have 2 part time jobs. A car that i’m getting refinanced, and I rent with a roommate. I currently pay 150$ for rent and utilities. I did the math and I’ll pay about 195$ every 6 WEEKS for food. I pay 300$ for car insurance, 220$ for my car. my car rate is at 30% but like I said i’m getting it refinanced. I pay 25$ for my cell phone, 24$ for my gym membership, and about 50$ for misc. I only have two credit cards. Chase and Capital One. I only bank with those two and US Bank. I haven’t taken out a student loan. My car is the only loan I have.
I don’t own any stocks. i’ll be signing up with a credit union (will own a 5$ stock) but my car will be refinanced at a 5-11% rate with that union. Which is much nicer than my 30% rate.
I’ve been saving my money. Only driving my car when needed. Which is a 03 civic so it gets good gas millage.
So will this financial crisis affect me? What are some ways to avoid it affected me if it does? Besides saving money.

My husband and I disagree as how to reduce our debt. Basically our ONLY debt is a car and motorcycle, no credit cards. He says to take money directly out of savings and pay them off so we wont have to pay the intrest on them. I say to just double payments putting more onto principles. Any ideas?
